The weather guys have all been warning about this for days and days and days. Of course, you live in Chicago, so they are very aware of the fact that once November comes around a snow storm is very possible and even probable. If you have lived here most of his life that could even be used for such things. Yes, you can be a hassle, but also make the city look pretty for a while and, really, compared to other things is not so bad. The day of the storm comes you flip on the news and was surprised to find that the news division of television seems to have gone out and recruited new people to send all the far corners of the city on a street corner Street and report back. Surely this must be a mistake, what you think. Without doubt, this means that television news has been taken over by radicals who think it is necessary to place people with cameras and microphones in every corner of the city with nothing and talk about anything. As a correspondent after correspondent comes to making a report to see how men and women, most of them fully grown, standing in front of a street or the airport and give a report that does not mean anything. They do hours before the snow starts to fall. Essentially, this means they are reporting anything. They have no reason to stand when they stand. Nothing is really happening in that stand, except that people are walking behind them and many of them are making obscene gestures. This is the news in these modern days. When television news began showing basically had a guy in a studio reading the news. It was not so easy in the early days to get out of the camera and crew to a street corner somewhere. The cameras weighed little more than a new Chrysler and had no video tapes then. Therefore, I have is a guy who broke the news and then went to bed. From my understanding of the principles of news were perhaps a quarter of an hour. Sometimes I wonder if that's the way things should be back. I remember when I started noticing that things were getting ridiculous. You see more in the Chicago area when it comes to snow storms. In the 80 or maybe 90 years I was at a friend's house and were watching the news. There was snow and then ice. The news people cut a boy shivering in his suit and tie, hair carefully cut and style, nearly dead in what could have been any neighborhood in the city. Had a box of blank tape in hand. Then he knelt down and pulled the tape box through the ice to show how the ice was slippery. You know, in case you were unaware of the fact that the ice was slippery and that when the water became frozen in ice. News now feels compelled to do this kind of thing all the time. I have no idea of what small towns and villages to make local coverage. The bigger the city of correspondents over the news stations seem to have. Some countries do not have armies as large as the legions of correspondents and local news people. With all those people who has to do something. It is as if every day a news director looks around, realizes he has too many people and too much equipment and should use it for something. So, not sure what to do, send them to stay out of things without any particular reason that is not better to have them standing outside standing in the hallway near the bathroom. Here in Chicago, the President of the Cook County Board had a stroke earlier this year. We were subjected to a day after another of the correspondents standing outside the hospital. Why? Does the guy go out dancing? No. did look out the window? No. Can a doctor come regularly and make a small ad on your condition? No. It was just boys and girls standing in front of the hospital, often to the emergency room sign in the background, talk of no other reason than somewhere in the construction of the man they were talking about was most likely sleeping . Could have been standing in front of any building they wanted, in fact, for all the benefit actually standing in front of the hospital actually did. I blame the proliferation of cable news networks for 24 hours. It must have seemed like a great idea at the time they were created. Sure, you could have someone on duty 24 hours a day so no matter where or when they might be the first to cover the news. When it comes to things like wars and major storms can be a good thing, I guess. However, it tends to be long pieces of time between a disaster when people have nothing to do. As such it is necessary to send them somewhere because people now want images that move and things that move behind the correspondents. Therefore, all the correspondents in the world is forced to spend hours standing on the outside. Furthermore 24-hour services also love to send correspondents in intense storms no apparent reason. Does not everyone know that hurricanes cause things to fly around a lot? Is not the pictures showing the aftermath was enough over the years to get this point across? Do we have to have the film of the signal from a local store that blows down the street and crashing right in front of the kind of news? Not only do we consider the revision of this correspondent when some very poor beheaded by a street sign metal? News stories where nothing happens is not a news story. The news is full of non-news stories. Cut to a guy who has nothing new to report and nothing has happened. Therefore, our correspondent says basically nothing happened and then returns to the anchor. Nothing new has been learned, no developments have been reported and there was no reason for that guy or girl to stand in front of the building at random from all reports. Are journalism schools full of people who are learning how to do this? Report took a class once and I remember the kind of information about the news story. So the next time you see some guy or girl with perfect hair standing on cold tiles pull tape or God knows what else through ice feel sorry for them. They are hoping to spend time in a place where you can sit in the hot studio and just read a teleprompter. How can people sit there and read get paid more than people standing around shivering and throwing things to the glaciers? The mind boggles. Film at 11.

My favorite foreign news in your local newspaper

Swine Flu Vaccine Stocks

Lots of info on the Swine Flu Vaccine which might be useful. type='text'>Getting Started In The Stock Market

Nothing is more critical for anyone thinking about investing in the stock market than research, research, research! Remember when you are investing in the market you are playing a game against the smartest people in the world. If you win you get some of their money. If you lose they get some or maybe even all of your money. They are going to do their homework, so you better do yours.

BYIA is not, and never will be, a premier research site. You need pros with years of experience and tons of expertise, and below are few places you should look at if you are serious about trading.

Investor’s Business Daily is a mainstay for market pros. The site has a great page for new investors with an eleven step program to teach the basics. Here’s a link the link to that page: http://www.investors.com/howtoinvest.asp?tn=top

Market Watch is big a mainstream site run by the Dow Jones Company. It doesn’t offer the same level of analysis as some of the other sites here, but it has a lot of tools and information especially on international markets. http://www.marketwatch.com/

Morningstar is another big full service site. http://www.morningstar.com/

The Motley Fool is a great site for ideas. It has lots of interesting strategies and ideas about where, when, and how to invest. http://www.fool.com/

TheStreet.com is Jim Kramer’s site. It is loaded with great info and a lot of original strategies and ideas.
http://www.thestreet.com/

Bloomberg.com is another great site: http://www.bloomberg.com

And if you haven't been to BYIA's front page check it out too: http://incomeandassest.blogspot.com/

This is really just the tip of the iceberg. There’s tons of good info out there if you want to take the time to do your research. The idea is to compare and contrast you ideas with information from the various news sources.
